OERcamp.global 2021

WirLernenOnline (WLO) is a joint project of the Open Education Community and the Open Source Community of Germany. We want to make all OER content in Germany accessible through a central search engine. Working with smart AI technologies we transform and harmonize metadata from different content providers. In December 2021 we have now made over 200,000 educational materials from different platforms searchable. To ensure that teachers can find material for their actual curriculum subject, WLO built a large community of education experts who curate content in 30 editorial teams. Together we developed a process to ensure and improve the quality of educational materials. Our team sort particularly outstanding materials into taxonomies based on school subjects, which can also be used to find relevant content. We also provide our content throughout an open hub to other educational systems, such as the School Cloud, central Moodle instances of German federal states, as well as the prototypes of the national education platform.

We would like to tell you about our project. You will get to know the platform, our background and our community work. We will give you a little technical insight behind the scenes, show you where AI is used and explain our community and quality work with you. We are looking forward to discuss with you our process of content aggregation, quality improvement, community work and are curious about your input to our project.
